Specs Summary
About This Assembly
RG316 Cable
RG-316 is a lightweight, flexible 50-ohm PTFE coaxial cable with a 0.100" outer diameter, combining good high-frequency performance with excellent flexibility. Silver-plated copper conductors and PTFE dielectric allow reliable operation from DC to 3 GHz and beyond. Widely used in instrumentation, test equipment, and antenna pigtails where flexibility and moderate power handling are needed.
N Connector
Type N is a threaded RF connector rated from DC to 18 GHz with a durable weatherproof design, making it the preferred interface for outdoor antenna installations, cellular base stations, and commercial wireless infrastructure. Its larger size compared to SMA allows higher power handling and the threaded coupling resists vibration, making it suitable for mobile and fixed outdoor applications.
RP-SMA Connector
RP-SMA (Reverse Polarity SMA) uses the SMA threaded coupling mechanism but with the male/female pin convention reversed — the jack has a pin and the plug has a socket. Originally standardized to prevent connection of uncertified antennas to consumer WiFi equipment, RP-SMA is now the dominant connector on commercial WiFi routers, access points, and 2.4/5 GHz antennas.
Common Applications
This N and RP-SMA cable assembly is well suited for instrumentation leads, test equipment interconnects, and flexible antenna pigtails. The combination of reliable N and RP-SMA connectors and custom-cut cable length makes it a practical choice for both field installations and bench setups. Every assembly is hand-terminated, continuity tested, and ships free within the USA.
