About This Assembly
RG316DS Cable
RG-316DS is a double-shielded version of RG-316, featuring two braid layers over the PTFE dielectric for superior EMI isolation. This construction reduces signal leakage and interference pickup, making it essential in sensitive receiver chains, spectrum analyzers, and high-density RF wiring where crosstalk must be minimized.
RP-SMA Connector
RP-SMA (Reverse Polarity SMA) uses the SMA threaded coupling mechanism but with the male/female pin convention reversed — the jack has a pin and the plug has a socket. Originally standardized to prevent connection of uncertified antennas to consumer WiFi equipment, RP-SMA is now the dominant connector on commercial WiFi routers, access points, and 2.4/5 GHz antennas.
TNC Connector
TNC (Threaded Neill–Concelman) is the threaded version of BNC, offering improved performance up to 11 GHz and better vibration resistance through its screw coupling. It is commonly used in mobile radio antennas, avionics, and outdoor installations where BNC's bayonet lock would not provide sufficient mechanical security.
Common Applications
This RP-SMA and TNC cable assembly is well suited for sensitive receiver chains, spectrum analyzer inputs, and high-EMI environments. The combination of reliable RP-SMA and TNC connectors and custom-cut cable length makes it a practical choice for both field installations and bench setups. Every assembly is hand-terminated, continuity tested, and ships free within the USA.
